Blessed, humbled and grateful.
On Dec. 8, Ema Trinidad and Sindhu Christine George, (they spearheaded this event) along with numerous volunteers were able to make Christmas wishes for 230 children come true. They delivered "wish list cards" to three trusted child care institutions back in October to Precious Tender feet, Building Blocks and Baale Mane. Some of the requests were your usual items that kids wish for, bikes, Barbies, guitars, others were very simple items like shoes, t-shirts, sandals. They then retrieved the wish list cards and asked for volunteers to help fill those wishes. It was quite a production and I was amazed at how much they were able to accomplish in Bangalore, where things aren't always so easy to put together. The day was one that we will always treasure and that we are truly grateful to have been part of.
See that cute little girl in the picture above? Her name was Evangeline, I wish you could have seen how many times she hugged that doll to herself, she showed it to anyone who would look at it and she truly looked like she was the happiest kid around. Pure joy is what we saw on so many kids faces when they opened their gifts and pure joy was in our hearts as we watched them. John, Bruce and I could not stop smiling, and the glow of that beautiful, magical day is going to stay with us a long time.
